Airplane Crash taking another life
A
turboprop passenger plane owned by TransAsia Airways yesterday plunged itself into the river in
Taiwan. This was the second crash of airlines in last seven months. Crew shouted the “Mayday! Mayday!
Engine Flameout” according to the recording of
the cockpit set.
Flameout is
generally when flames reaches high up , burning of engine results into engine failure. Officials said that they have not released the cockpit
set yet so the recording might be
from amateurs monitoring the radio. Amateur video shows that TransAsia ATR 72-600 hit an elevated road
as it banked side along with
water, leaving a trial of debris, including a smashed taxi.
“I saw a taxi, hardly meters ahead of me, being hit by one of the wings of the turboprop jet aircraft. The plane was huge and really close to me. I am still trembling from the effects of the huge event” one witness told the local news channel. Rescuers said that they have said at least 15 people from the wreckage of the plane but 26 people were dead and 17 are still missing. Majority passengers were the Chinese. This was the second plane crash in the row where a TransAsia plane hit the ground, the first being the domestic flight crashed in July during a storm killing 48 people. Today’s accident happened just before 11 am local time with 58 people onboard including 5 crew members. The former pilot said that it was caused due to engine failure.
