Dera sacha sauda head gurmeet ram rahim singh becomes the messenger of bharatiya janta party(BJP). Ram Singh, chairman of the sect's political affairs wing, told PTI that the Dera has decided to support BJP candidates in Delhi elections which will held on 7 feb.2015. "We have 20 lakh followers in Delhi, at least 12 lakh voters spread across the 70 Delhi constituencies. We have spread the message across Delhi to support BJP candidates," said Aman Insaan, a Dera leader said.
"Today's announcement was made by the political wing of Dera, which has 15 members," political wing (Delhi unit) vice president Amandeep Insan told PTI. In Kerala to promote his film, Ram Rahim said, "The BJP has nothing to do with clearing our film." The BJP, he said, had won his Dera's support by signing "affidavits" on several social issues raised by him. "No one from AAP came forward," Ram Rahim said. The film, which is yet to release, has been banned in Punjab, where the BJP participates in a government led by the Akali Dal. Manjeet Singh, a Delhi leader of the Akali Dal was dismissive. "The Dera is not our issue. We will win all the four seats and will get 100 per cent results," he said. "Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, drive against female foeticide and drugs in the country," Amandeep told PTI..
