BEANT SINGH MURDER CASE
The runaway prisoner Jagtar Singh Tara has finally
been found by the Punjab Police in Thailand after 10 years. He was found guilty
for murdering Beant Singh, The former Chief Minister of Punjab and he was
sentenced for whole life. Thailand’s group of human rights opposed it. The team
of Punjab Police reached Thailand on 13 Jan and Tara was handed to them at
Bangkok. Punjab Police released this statement at Chandigarh on 16 jan.
A four member Punjab Police Party was positioned in
Bangkok to bring back Jagtar Singh Tara to India, after he was found in
Thailand and he was brought in Friday afternoon. This was told by one of the
police spokesman.
Tara had shaved his beard and got his hair shortens
and he was without the turban, when he was arrested. The Thai authorities said
that he was living illegally in Thailand for more than four months. Apparently
he was living under the Pakistan Passport in Thailand and his change in
appearance resulted in the delay of his arrest.

Paramjit Singh Bheora, Jagtar Singh Hawara and Dev Singh were arrested after
Beant Singh's murder.On 31 August 1995 Babbar
Khalsa International’s Terrorist broke into Chandigarh’s complex and with bomb
diffusion they killed Beant Singh. In this along with CM, three Commandos and
17 other people were killed. Babbar Khalsa International’s terrorist Tara with
two other terrorist broke out the Burail jail of Chandigarh in 2004.In January
2004 he with his fellow prisoner paramjeet and jagtar singh made a tunnel about
110 feet long from his cell. He was the main murderer of Beant Sing.
However, Hawara and Bhaura were re-arrested by security agencies later but Tara
remained elusive. Sources also revealed that after the bombings in 2010, the
suspect remained in Nepal for two years and in Thailand for another two years. He was a member of Khalistan Liberation Force and Khalistan
Commando Force.
