REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
India celebrates its
66th republic day today. Every year 26january is celebrated as republic day of
India. On 26 January 1950, the constitution
of India was formed and there after we celebrated this day as a republic day. It is the longest constitution
in the world. The main republic
day celebration is held in capital New Delhi, at the Rajpath. On this day various prades take place which
are performed as a
tribute to India. Our Hon’ble president does the flag hoisting ceremony. During flag hoisting ceremony, 21 salute
guns are given to the president
and national flag of India. Prime minister lays a floral wreath at Amar jawan jyoti which is followed by two
minutes of silence in the memory
of soldiers and after that our prime minister reached the main dais at rajpath to join other dignitaries.
President arrives along
with the chief guest of the occasion. This year, US PRESIDENT MR.BARACK OBAMA is chief guest of occasion for
the first time. Mr. Barack Obama and Michelle
Obama reached India yesterday and
they were received by prime minister of India Mr.Narendra modi at the airport.
Highlights of 66th republic day:
9.35a.m.-The day started with prime minister’s arrival at rajpath. He laid a floral wreath at amar jawan jyoti which was followed by two minutes of silence and after that he pays homage to the soldiers. After that Mr.Narendra Modi welcomed the chief guest of the occasion Mr.Barack Obama,US President.
10.00a.m.-Indian
president Mr. Pranav Mukherjee arrives at the saluting base. The indian
tri-colour(flag)is unfurled as the national anthem plays at the background.
10.04a.m-Major Mukund’s wife indu receives posthumous ashok chakra award for her husband.
10.12a.m.-Republic day parade begins: The republic day parade begins with showering of petals by IAF helicopters. Thousands of artists, students, soldiers participated in republic day parade. A tank named T-90 rolls past saluting dais on rajpath. From Another tank T-72 captain Urvarshi Rana salutes President Pranav Mukherjee.
10.35a.m.-Main theme of the Republic day-NAARI SHAKTI: All women contingents begin marching. All women naval contingent led by Lt cdr priya jayakumar marches past the dais and all women air force officers contingent led by sq.leader sneha shekhawat.
11.00a.m.-After
prade, cultural presentations begin. Karnataka, goa, Madhya Pradesh, assam, Sikkim, sultanpur, Maharashtra,
Gujarat, india shows their
tableaus.
11.30a.m.-After
the cultural presentations,dance performances begins which covered rajpath in colours.Prime minister modi’s
swach bharat compaign is
highlighted by students through dance performance.The major attraction of republic day parade-JANBAZ
displayed by border security
force’s.
11.51a.m.-Helicopter
MI-35 fly past saluting the dais at 240kmph.
12.03p.m.-Republic day comes to an end as tricolor balloons are released into air.
